Robotics essentials
Identify sensing, planning, action, and feedback in a robot task.
Curiosity about physical systems; no hardware needed.
Understand
A robot connects perception to physical action. A camera may locate a part, software chooses a motion, and actuators move a gripper. Feedback tells the system whether the intended movement actually happened.
Apply judgment
A simulation helps explore an idea but does not prove that hardware will work safely. Lighting, friction, sensor error, payload, and people in the workspace can change the result. Physical deployment requires appropriate engineering and validation.
Try it yourself
Try it: map a sorting task. What detects the object? What decides the destination? What moves it? What confirms success? Write down what should happen if the object cannot be recognized.
